Being Part of the Solution

Monday we talked about Leaving a Legacy. I hope you have spent adequate time doing that. Today we are going to talk about "being part of the solution."

My Senior year at college I was a Resident Assistant. For those not familiar, I was the guy that lived on campus and made sure all the guys in the dorm's needs were being addressed and met. Well this specific year there was quite a bit of "complaining" going around. Some warranted, some maybe a little petty. Bottom line was, we as a staff at the college agreed that we would begin taking written complaints only if the students were bringing reasonable solutions to their problems.

The easy part is jibber jabbering and complaining. The hard part is actually thinking about, and being a part of the solution.

1.) Do you have a tendency to complain? What kind of things do you complain about? Can you help fix the problem? What can you do?
2.) Read Numbers 14. Israel had a real knack for complaining and not doing anything about it. They would always blame God, or whoever their leader was. They look kind of silly right? They especially looked silly in verses 2-4. Spend some time and write some reflections on Numbers 14. Yes - anything that comes to your mind. Relate it to your life.
3.) If there was one thing you wanted to change about your life, what would it be? Is it about yourself? Is it about someone else? Is it about where you are in your life? Why do you want this changed? Would this change be honoring to God? Why or why not? What can you do to change is that would be honoring to God?
4.) Think about some things you complain about in church? What are they? What about church would you change? Why? ((Pastor Joey would be interested to see theses!!))

Alright guys - keep rocking! Have Fun!
