1 John 3:16 says "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers."
Can you say that you could do that?
True Love is not just thinking guy or a girl is "cute."
True Love is not just having funny feelings in the pit of your stomach.
True Love is not just admiring someone for their personality.
The bible says True Love is to lay your life down "NO MATTER WHAT."
Can you say that you could do that?
True Love is not just taking a bullet for someone.
True Love is not just helping someone get out of trouble.
True Love is not just putting others before yourself.
The Bible Says True Love means to sacrifice "EVERYTHING."
Can you say that you could do that?
True Love is not just for Parents and their Kids.
True Love is not just for Husband and Wife.
True Love is not just for Boyfriends and Girlfriends.
The Bible Says True Love is for "EVERYONE."
Can you say that you could do that?
Well - can you?
Jesus did.
Jesus Loves you. No matter who you are, what you look like, what you've ever done. Jesus Loves you and Sacrificed everything he had, and everything he was - so that you may spend eternity with him. We are days before Easter, there are decisions to be made.
So I charge you with the following:
1.) Make a list of "true love" actions you can remember doing for someone else.
2.) The Bible says "Love others, as you love yourself." First - do you Love yourself? Do you love yourself as God has created you? You can't love others, if you don't love yourself.
3.) Read 1 John 3. Memorize a few verses on "Love." Write down what these passages mean to you in your life right now.
4.) Take time now to pray and thank God for sending his son Jesus to die for you and your sins. Maybe you need to accept him the first time. Maybe you need to recommit your life to him. If you make any commitment now - please e-mail me at JRuyter@rtbc.org.
